You should venture off the ranch every once in a while, too! After a busy day with all the activities at the ranch it might be time for some two-stepping or waltzing in one of the unique honkytonks and dancehalls in Bandera , the “Cowboy Capital of the World”. It has won this title from a number of world champion rodeo riders it has produced. Still cowboys from all over Texas come to prove their skills in the rodeos during the summer with 2 rodeos a week, not to mention the PRCA rodeo on Memorial Day weekend, you'll get to see all the action! If you're bringing children, let them enter the calf scramble and try to win a prize. For the hardened little cowboys or cowgirls there are the thrills and spills of mutton busting, if your hearts can take the excitement!
There are many golf courses within easy driving distance, one of the best is only ten minutes away.
For gun enthusiasts the Bandera Gun Club is a must. Rifle, pistol, skeet and trap shooting are available and we'll get you a discount just for staying with us.
If fishing is what you're looking for, we have a seasonal stock tank here on the ranch. Next door in the State Park you can throw in a line just for fun and in Bandera itself you can go to the Medina River . If you drive just 40 minutes you can be at Medina Lake and occupy yourselves for an afternoon.

Tubing and kayaking is also available, there are two outfitters in town who will drop you at the start and pick you up at the end, soaked and happy!
Other attractions include the historic Riverwalk in San Antonio and the Alamo tour is almost a must when you visit Texas ! Sea World and Fiesta Texas (Theme Park) are just one hour away and other options for a fun afternoon include water parks, caverns and great shopping , both in historic towns like Fredericksberg or modern outlets in San Marcos.
